As organizations continue to invest in cloud, digital transformation, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies, many remain constrained by aging applications, complex technology stacks, legacy infrastructure, and years of accumulated technical debt. While modernization initiatives are often viewed as strategic priorities, balancing innovation with the realities of maintaining business-critical systems remains a significant challenge for technology leaders.

At the same time, increasing demands for agility, scalability, security, integration, and operational efficiency are placing additional pressure on enterprise architecture and technology teams. Organizations are evaluating how best to modernize legacy environments, rationalize application portfolios, reduce technical complexity, manage modernization risk, and align technology investments with long-term business objectives while continuing to support day-to-day operations.

In this highly interactive, member-driven working session, the event moderators will facilitate a structured, open exchange where all attendees are expected to actively contribute to the group conversation - sharing what is working, what is not, and to engage in a candid, group problem-solving dialogue around the most pressing challenges facing technical debt, modernization, and enterprise architecture initiatives.

Please Note: This is not a passive event. Throughout the event, all attendees are expected to actively participate in the discussion and contribute real-world challenges and solutions.

Topics of discussion will include, yet will not be limited to:

  • Identifying, measuring, and prioritizing technical debt across complex technology environments
  • Legacy modernization strategies, approaches, lessons learned, and common pitfalls
  • Application portfolio rationalization and reducing unnecessary technology complexity
  • Balancing modernization initiatives with ongoing operational, security, and business requirements
  • Modernization approaches involving cloud migration, re-platforming, refactoring, and system replacement
  • Enterprise architecture strategies for improving scalability, agility, maintainability, and long-term technology sustainability
